The OnePlus 8T is a great phone with some minor drawbacks, which the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE addresses for a lower price

  • The $750 OnePlus 8T is an excellent smartphone that comes with the incredible performance and value we usually expect in a OnePlus phone.
  • It runs on the powerful Snapdragon 865 processor, and it comes with a massive 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage. No other phone can compete when it comes to raw specs.
  • It doesn't have certain features, like an IP-rated water resistance or wireless charging, and we'd normally excuse the OnePlus 8T for missing those features due to its appealing price tag. 
  • However, Samsung already beat OnePlus at its own game with the Galaxy S20 FE, which brings similar performance and fewer compromises for an even lower price.

Here's the same photo take with the macro lens. It can somewhat act like a 2x zoom lens, but the results aren't as good as the Galaxy S20 FE's zoom lens:

Here's a photo taken with 10X zooming on the OnePlus 8T. It looks pretty bad and I wouldn't use the OnePlus as a zooming phone:

This photo is closer to what the macro lens is designed for, and it does seem to do a good job of it.
