The pair have been called ‘Britain’s youngest influencers’ and have racked up a following greater than CBeebies on the video streaming platform. Their fast-growing platform was created by Ms Vilumsone in 2016, showcasing the duo playing with toys, unboxing and general family vlogs.

Gabrielle currently has a net worth of $10million (£7.3million) despite not even being four feet tall yet.

The YouTube channel Gaby & Alex was originally started as Toys and Little Gaby, which has now become the family’s operating company name.

In 2019, the family reaped a healthy £352,842 from the platform and just before lockdown hit last year they were sitting on £1,529,658.

Ms Vilumsone manages the channel as her full-time job.

The trio now live in the north of England where the film and broadcast their YouTube videos across two channels.

Their main channel, Gaby & Alex, has a following of over 17 million subscribers and their Spanish channel, Gaby y Alex, has 1.34 million subscribers.

In comparison, the popular children’s TV channel CBeebies only has 1.9 million subscribers.

Their main claim to fame is their unboxing videos, which features brightly coloured toys, wrappings and sets to keep their young audience engaged with each video.

Bath Song Nursery Rhyme has been their most popular video to date, featuring both kids wearing swimming costumes in the bath, put to a unique soundtrack.

The channel has ranked at number one in Britain on a few occasions thanks to their high-viewing figures.  

Academics have studied channels like Alex & Gaby’s and noted that their videos are incredibly addictive to youngsters, dubbing it ‘toddler crack’.

This certainly appears to be the trend as more and more ‘kidfluencers’ and child YouTube stars gain the title of Millionaire.

Commenting on the trends, Caoimhe McGonagle from Bella Baby noted: “Over the last few years we have seen a boom in the number of kids influencers online. Whether it’s on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, or any other social media platform, these kids are creating content for their peers.

“These kids are sharing their hobbies and lives online, and by doing so, are marketing products through various paid partnerships with affiliate brands.

“It’s great to see young kids making their way through this digital age, and making it work for them! Social media is a huge part of growing up these days and there are great opportunities for kids to create their own online enterprise.

“However, it’s also important to remember that the internet can be a dangerous place for young people.

“Therefore, we advise parents to carefully monitor their child’s activity online, and set parental boundaries and locks on inappropriate content.

“The most-used social media site among teenagers and young adults in the United Kingdom in 2020 was YouTube according to figures from Statista.

“With that being said, it’s no surprise that there is a growing amount of young influencers on this social media platform. 

“The video-sharing platform is now more popular than Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram for the majority of users aged 15-25 years old.”
